Solving Math Problems Working in small groups with Miss Ruetschle. Playing the Ferris Wheel game while practicing subtraction facts. Author Study We are learning about the author Cynthia Rylant. Here are some facts we learned... Cynthia Rylant grew up in West Virginia. She writes about her life. She has written more than sixty books! Liquids Unit We learned about the different textures of liquids. Liquids can have color, be bubbly, transparent, foamy, or translucent. STEM Project The challenge was to design the fastest way to melt ice. Students were given a list of materials to choose from. Ex. pie plates, plastic lids, plastic cups, foil, coffee filters, and a timer. It was fun to see if their structure worked or what they needed to do to make the ice melt faster!

Welcome to Miss Ruetschle's Classroom Blog Introducing students in the Nitzanim Class... We created a list of what we agreed to do to make our classroom pleasant and productive. These are some of the things we did the first weeks of school: Stand Tall, Molly Lou Melon - We learned to believe and stand up for our self! How Full Is Your Bucket? - We played a game and determined if a scenario was a bucket filler or dipper... "Calling Names"-dipper "Including Others"-filler We Reviewed and Practiced Addition Facts Here are some excerpts from our "All About Me" Illustrated Stories    We are observing each stage of the butterfly life cycle. Our caterpillars ate and ate and ate. We had fun watching the caterpillars grow and turn into chrysalides. What an exciting day it was on Wednesday when we spotted our first butterfly!!! The wings are starting to dry out. + We are all learning and growing in the Nitzanim class!
